About the job:

Kent is hiring a Project Manager to support our client site in Bayport, TX.

You will be accountable for managing development and execution of multiple projects through all assigned phases. You will assemble and lead the required cross-functional team to achieve agreed cost, schedule, quality, operability and safety objectives established for the project.

Experienced Project Managers managing a portfolio of small to midsize capital projects in an operating chemical plant required.

Your responsibilities:

Meet key project indicators developed as part of the execution of a project.Identify, clarify and document customer changes from initial project objectives and scope of work to support the change order process.Plan, organize and implement project’s scope to ensure on time and on budget completion with safe and error free performance. Develop project plans, goals and budgets including identifying resource needs.Develop schedules and methods for measuring results. Monitor budget and schedule activities. Identify unanticipated changes in budget and schedule and the impact from these changes.Develop bi-weekly and monthly management reports.Provide subject matter expert advice on design processes and/or construction methods.Participate in review and improvement of company’s project management best practices.Investigate and analyze reported problems to determine causes and remdial/corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Evaluates corrective actions proposed by others for appropriateness, applicability and technical adequacy.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

Prior direct experience in managing multiple chemical, petrochemical and downstream type of projects and prior field experience requiredBachelor's degree in Engineering requiredProject Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Certification (PMP) preferredMinimum 7 years direct work experience in a project management capacity in the refining/petrochemical/chemical industry is requiredUnderstanding of the engineering and construction industry by way of experience in past employment with EPC companies or ClientsWorking knowledge of equipment procurement and constructionFamiliarity with applicable engineering codes/standards and their applicationSelf-starter with hands-on approach and out-of-the-box thinkingHave experience and be proficient in stage gate processProficient skills in reading and understanding cost report trends and forecasting and working with project engineering to bring project team to meet budgetsProficient skills in understanding the links in a critical path schedule to analyze and forecast outcomes and develop recovery plans as requiredStrong team player with exceptional communication and organization skills; focal point of all owner communication HSSEQ:
