Project Manager
Join a Leading Employer and Advance Your Career. We are seeking an experienced Program Manager for an exciting remote contract opportunity with our Government client based in Winnipeg. This position begins with a 6-month term, with an expected total duration of 24 months.

Our client views project management as the comprehensive management and control of all project aspects throughout its lifecycle. The Program Manager will utilize diverse methodologies, including waterfall, agile, and hybrid approaches, to guide project teams, meet project objectives, and ensure alignment with requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Initiation and PlanningCommunicate regularly with stakeholders, including project owners, teams, consultants, and staff.Direct the activities and deliverables of project management resources.Manage contract changes within the Manitoba approval framework.Monitor project risks and opportunities, keeping all stakeholders informed.Oversee and coordinate activities required to complete assigned projects.Ensure data entry and management within Manitoba’s project management systems.Budgeting and SchedulingDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules, integrating capital and operating streams.Operate within approved budgets, providing weekly tracking and reporting.Ensure implementation aligns with project requirements, coordinating schedules and deliverables.ProcurementDefine project requirements and prepare tender-ready documentation.Participate in the tendering process, including selection and awarding of contracts.Develop procurement plans in accordance with Manitoba policies and regulations.Project Execution, Monitoring, and ControllingDeliver project plans, ensuring alignment with goals and expectations.Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, and communications.Review scope changes, costs, and schedules, and advise on necessary adjustments.Navigate internal processes, including Architectural Review Board (ARB) approvals.Oversee project budgets, progress claims, and holdback payments, with regular tracking and reporting.Manage risks, quality assurance, and stakeholder communications.Coordinate staff training on new systems and ensure proper project data management.Project Close-OutConduct project reviews and finalize all close-out documentation.Transfer operations, as-built documents, and training manuals.Host lessons-learned sessions with stakeholders.Qualifications:10+ years of experience managing Information Technology projects.PMP Certification or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.Expertise in project lifecycles, resource planning, cost estimation, and scheduling.Proven experience developing business cases.Strong background managing projects in Public Sector organizations.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.Criminal background check required.This is your opportunity to make a significant impact in the public sector while advancing your career.
