Project Manager
Job Title: Construction Project Manager Job Description We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee all project activities and personnel. This role requires establishing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and clients, meeting budgetary objectives, and ensuring compliance with permits, governmental codes, and construction standards. The Project Manager will be responsible for preparing and issuing project documents, maintaining job books and budgets, and conducting regular site visits to monitor project status. This is a long-term opportunity with potential for growth into a senior Project Manager role. Responsibilities + Oversee the efforts of all project activities and personnel. + Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and clients. + Meet budgetary objectives and notify upper management of issues. + Acquire a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives. + Review all project documents, including drawings, specifications, contracts, scope of work, and construction schedule. + Manage projects as required for permits, governmental codes, and established construction standards. + Prepare and issue project documents including progress reports, detailed project schedule updates, and financial/budget updates. + Maintain the required job book (on Excel) and budget (on Buildertrend) that monitors and tracks progress, client contract, change orders, and associated costs. + Conduct regular site visits every couple of weeks to monitor project status. + Perform project status reviews by monitoring project schedule, submittal/RFI logs, and open items. + Ensure punch list completion and Department of Buildings sign-off. + Organize and deliver project close-out. Essential Skills + Project management + Construction management + Ability to read a set of construction plans + At least four years of experience with retail fit-out projects + Coordination with trades (MEP, Commercial construction) + Experience with RFIs and change orders + Proficiency in Procore Additional Skills & Qualifications + Degree or certification in construction or a related field + At least four years of relevant experience as a Project Manager, preferably in interior, high-end commercial retail general contracting + US Work Authorization required Work Environment The role is based in an office in Hackensack, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position requires travel every three weeks to project sites nationwide. Mileage, per diem, and travel expenses are covered in full for all project-related travel. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.86/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
