Project Manager

Summary The Project Manager is responsible for managing the design, development and execution processes associated with scope managed by the Ride and Show Programs team.  This includes but is not limited to delivering safety enhancements, modifications, and full replacements of existing theme park attraction systems and equipment. Responsibilities: + Provide project management leadership and technical oversight of multiple ride and show projects, including but not limited to, scopes involving ride vehicles, show action equipment, ride and show controls, ride structure, scenic elements, and attraction facility infrastructure. + Develop project baselines including scopes of work, budgets, and schedules. Track baselines through project execution, resolving issues and action items as they arise. Communicates potential and actual changes in baselines to project team, executive management, and stakeholders. + Perform oversight of vendor contracts, including evaluation of technical performance and adherence to the contract requirements, which includes all aspects of the project. + Manage vendor submittals, requests for information, modification documents, the directive process, and the change order process. + Monitor change or delays to project schedule, including evaluation of the vendor’s and/or team’s schedule performance and schedule coordination with other groups and departments. Identify opportunities to consolidate projects and attraction downtime needs across multiple teams and departments. + Work closely with all affected teams, business partners, and vendors to plan, organize, secure, and manage resources for assigned project efforts. Independently research, analyze, identify, and document the tasks to achieve the project goals. Coordinate assigned project activities between project team members, vendors, and other parties as applicable.  + Work closely with affected teams to understand their business and system needs and opportunities in the context of the requirements. Work with the project team and management to identify solutions that enable the organization to achieve its project goals. Manage the implementation of solutions to meet requirements for operational reliability, safety, and serviceability of Ride & Show equipment. + Trace the requirements throughout the project to ensure that the scope is managed and that the original requirements are delivered. Perform oversight of all project work. Coordinate, facilitate, and lead project team and stakeholder meetings to accomplish project deliverables. + Ensure all project work conforms to necessary local regulations (such as LA DBS and DOSH), industry standards (such as ASTM F24) and internal Universal Destinations & Experiences engineering specifications. + Prepare and present progress reports/status to executive management + Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety responsibilities by following established USH policy, procedures, training, team member involvement activities, and applicable OSHA and environmental regulations. + Perform other duties as assigned This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite. Salary range: $85,000 - $120,000 Education & Experience + Bachelor’s in engineering, technical theater, or other technical degree from accredited four-year program + 5-7 years’ experience project management / construction / engineering / technical theater related experience + or equivalent combination of education and experience Other Requirements + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tracking tools + Ability & willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays with short notice Desired Characteristics + Working technical knowledge of ride and show equipment + Knowledgeable in local regulations and industry standards (i.e., ASTM F24) + Strong technical oral and written communication skills for a wide audience + Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 productivity and collaboration tools + Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and management, and willingness to give assistance to co-workers in other areas.
