Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our team.  This role will be primarily focused on managing the full lifecycle of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, ensuring timely submission of compelling and competitive proposals that align with Hard Rock's strategic objectives. The Project Manager will oversee multiple medium to large-scale projects, guiding cross-functional teams through the design, development, testing, and deployment phases.  This position requires exceptional project management skills, strong communication abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects within scope and budget, while navigating the dynamic environment of casino gaming, hospitality, and IT.  This role will work with the development and operational teams to provide models and technical analyses to facilitate projects and the continued success of ongoing business operations.  This high-profile position requires a high degree of accuracy, as the information provided is the critical support data for key decision makers at the senior management level.

Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

 

Project & RFP Management

Lead and manage the entire RFP process, from requirements gathering to vendor selection, ensuring adherence to deadlines and requirements.Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards, and assessing risks.Serve as the main point of contact between internal teams (operations, compliance, IT) and external vendors ensuring project alignment across all units.Create and/or collaborate on the creation of critical path process.Establish and build agreement among team members for project milestones, resources requirements and measures of success.Aids in the development of pre-opening Labor Compendiums using established metrics and labor models.Manage pre-opening expenses by analyzing and reconciling financial reports, determining trends and areas of opportunity, advising others on cost control methods and resolving budgetary issues.Perform basic financial analyses to provide decision makers the information needed to evaluate a project opportunity.Participate in the creation of property pre-opening budgets to include payroll, marketing, recruitment expense, working capital, equipment, and supplies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

 

Lead and motivate project teams fostering a collaborative and productive environment.Act as the central point of contact for all applicable project and RFP-related activities, effectively coordinating with senior level department leaders to gather line of business details and ensure alignment.Act as the central point of contact for vendors participating in RFPs.Proposal DevelopmentDevelop high-quality, detailed RFPs, including writing and editing content, formatting documents, and ensuring consistency in messaging.

Content Management

 

Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation that is not limited to critical path and recap notes, agendas, and follow up request. Schedule ManagementDevelop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking progress against milestones and deadlines, and proactively identifying and mitigating potential roadblocks.
Prepare and present regular status reports for management and stakeholders, covering project scope, milestones, budget, risk, and critical issues.

Risk & Compliance Management

 

Identify, assess, and document potential risks, actions, issues, and decisions associated with each project or RFP opportunity, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize negative impacts.Stakeholder CommunicationLead weekly project meetings with internal project teams and vendors.Provide regular updates to project teams and stakeholders on the status of RFP process, as well as tasks on schedule, at risk, and potential challenges.Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.Post-Submission ActivitiesManage post-submission activities, including proposal clarifications, presentations, and debriefings, as required.

 

Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university in a technology and/or business-oriented major (Business or Project Management).PMP certification, preferred.Five years of project management experience supporting hospitality/casino technology and critical path projects.Experience opening large casino/hotels or technology deployment projects.Strong attention to detail with deadlines and budgetary guidelines.Proven success working with all levels of management.Familiarity with Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations.

Skills:

 

Deep understanding of casino gaming systems, IT infrastructure and platforms, including slot management, cage operations, table game systems, payment processing, loyalty programs, and online gaming platforms.Experience utilizing multiple and different applications, programs, and software such as Smartsheets and/or other project management systems.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including exceptional skill in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.Must maintain robust multitasking abilities, service-oriented personality, be stress resistant, and possess an intellectual curiosity with an investigative mind.Must be meticulously organized and a detail-oriented team player that is flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, demands, and timelines.Ability to identify and analyze problems, develop creative solutions, and make sound decisions under pressure.Fluency in English is required and ability to comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.Ability to effectively pitch and present information in one-on-one and group situations to clients, partners, and other Stakeholders within the organization. High energy individual, with effective and influential people skills. Positive attitude and the desire to motivate others.Ability to use logic to define problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations.Experience collaborating with senior level executives.

Physical Demands:

Ability to move throughout the worksite (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods.Ability to sit for extended periods of time.Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 10 pounds.Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
