Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for all phases of capital project management from conceptual estimate to equipment fabrication, equipment construction, commissioning, validation, start-up, and close out. This role involves developing multi-objective project scope, financial spending forecasting, and schedule development while ensuring compliance with all user codes. The Project Manager will present key project deliverables and scope to multiple stakeholders for approvals and updates throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities + Develop preliminary budgets and schedules for assigned projects. + Work closely with project sponsors and stakeholders to prepare Capital Project Appropriation requests (CPAs), including project description, justification, cost estimates, budget, schedule, and analysis of alternatives. + Facilitate meetings, presentations, and reporting to ensure stakeholders are informed of project status and changes. + Develop Request for Proposal documents for design services, construction services, and major equipment items as appropriate. + Develop Capital and Expense budget requests for future projects during the annual budget cycle. + Arrange training for maintenance and operating personnel and ensure proper distribution of testing, certification, validation, 'as-built', spare parts, operating or maintenance manual documentation, and drawings. + Manage and coordinate successful implementation of assigned projects, ensuring safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and legal compliance. + Administer, resolve, and control all design, construction, contractual, and financial issues on assigned projects. + Complete assigned projects by starting up and checking out new equipment and systems, inspecting construction, and resolving 'punch list' items. + Ensure frequent communication and conduct regular meetings between the Project Team and other stakeholders. + Ensure all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements are met on assigned projects. + Generate request for proposals for purchased equipment and services as necessary. + Lead the process of developing User Requirement Specifications for equipment and services. + Procure, track, and close out project equipment and services purchases. + Provide or arrange for the development of complete design documentation for assigned projects. + Prepare documentation necessary for project approvals. + Generate change control documentation as required by project commissioning needs. + Provide qualification documentation for assigned projects as applicable. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical). + CapEx Project Management experience, including managing the full project lifecycle. + Experience managing multi-million dollar projects ($10 million - $100 million). + 5+ years' experience working on Aseptic Filling processes. + Proficiency in Project Management Systems such as PowerPoint, MS Project, and other relevant software. + Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with freeze drying processes. + PMP or PE license. + Master's Degree. Work Environment This role supports projects in Portage and Kalamazoo, including 2 manufacturing facilities and 1 lab facility. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager over Capital Projects, the Project Manager will be involved in various projects such as capital equipment, packaging lines, boiler projects, and warehousing projects. The project is expected to last 12 months but could extend longer. The typical work week is 40 hours, with potential for overtime. Employees will have access to Udemy courses after 6 months, offering over 150 project management-related courses. Standard holidays and 10 days of PTO are offered.
