Title:
Project ManagerKBR is seeking a Project Manager for work supporting a government client in Jacksonville, FL. As a project manager, you will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and delivering projects on time and within budget. You will lead multiple teams supporting the development, acquisition and sustainment of Department of Defense (DoD) aircraft survivability equipment and potentially other DoD platforms or weapon.
Role and Responsibilities:
You will be part of and coordinate with a broader team which provides development, integration, testing, and reliability engineering for a wide variety of DoD systems including military aircraft and naval surface vessels.
Visits to the government client facilities in Jacksonville, FL (Cecil Airport area) may be required multiple times per month. Travel to other sites is expected to be no more than four times per year. Most duties may be performed remotely, but weekly in-person meetings with the KBR team and/or government clients will be strongly encouraged.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead multiple teams of engineers, analysts, and logisticians directly reporting to you.
Supervise, train, mentor, listen to, and support your team.
As new requirements emerge, hire new talent to satisfy those needs (job posting, interviewing, onboarding…).
Communicate with clients and other stakeholders about their requirements and your team’s progress toward meeting those objectives.
Manage cost, schedule, and performance of projects. Set milestones. Review technical progress and budgets.
Report progress to clients and KBR upper management.
Ensure completion of contract requirements (status reports, contract deliverables…).
Identify and develop opportunities for new business, either with existing clients or adjacent organizations.
Communicate client feedback to other managers and colleagues within KBR.
Basic Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Must have at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Must be able to manage a diverse team that includes local and remote employees.
Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
Must be able to work and communicate well in a virtual/ remote environment
Proximity to Jacksonville, FL to enable face-to-face collaboration with government clients and KBR team members is required.
Must be able to travel as required by contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with government contract processes
Navy experience, ideally with aviation
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
