Job Title: Assistant Project Manager - HVAC

Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Project Manager (PM) to join our growing team in the Philadelphia area. The PM position is responsible for working collaboratively with internal administration, support and technical personnel, as well as external customers in managing and coordinating HVAC Project activities to meet both customer and company objectives. Managing all aspects of assigned projects within the established budget and time allotted according to the contract documents, plans, and specifications, and to the Owner/Client satisfaction and in the best interest of EMCOR Services Fluidics.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Build and maintain relationships with customers, peers, supervisors, administrative staff, field craft workers, field supervision, vendors, and subcontractors based on respect, trust, and integrity. Review and analyze project estimates and preliminary contract budgets prepared by Estimating estimate Assist in reviewing contracts and help resolve conflicts at the appropriate level. Develop understanding of HVAC plans, specifications, and scheduling. In addition, work with PM to complete the project on time and within budget. Continuous review of project progress; ability to anticipate and recognize trouble spots and alert, when necessary, steps are warranted to prevent development of problems. Help manage accurate cost projections and evaluate project performance. Work with PM to accurately update monthly Work-In-Progress reports. Prepare and manage timely, accurate and complete project documentation, including but not limited to, all incoming and outgoing correspondence, submittals, RFI’s, daily reports, change orders, etc. Conduct and document procurement activities and efforts, but not limited to commodity materials, consumables, necessary tools, and equipment, major equipment packages, subcontracts and Permit applications. Help in Managing all aspects of subcontracts: track, measure and assess quality, safety, and progress of subcontractor work. Work in cooperation with the Safety Manager to achieve enforcement of and compliance with all safety regulations; identify and request site specific safety training; work to eliminate hazardous job-site conditions and reduce the potential for injury to employees, customers, subcontractors, and other trades. Manage project close-out, turnover and O&M documentation.

 The PM will possess the minimum requirements:

2-5 years of hands-on, industry-specific experience preferred but not required. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills are necessary to effectively communicate with employees, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Proven ability to work in a team environment. Ability to travel locally up to 50% of the time to meet customers and attend meetings. Willingness to learn and develop piping layout plans and construction methods that enhance the satisfactory completion of assigned projects within defined budgets and time schedules. The desire to gain and apply knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and techniques to aid in estimate evaluations. Maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical behavior is always expected.

Entrust responsibility and authority to project personnel, establish accountability for results and create a positive work environment for every project team member to mutually thrive personally and achieve project goals. Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work assignments. Possess a positive attitude toward career development and company process/policy improvement. Assist in managing complex design and construction schedules, budgets and cost control. Ability to learn and manage estimating data base for Trimble piping and labor software.

Work Environment:

This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, and printers. Work tasks may occasionally necessitate travel to local job sites, which means intermittent exposure to the conditions typically associated with a construction site. Work tasks may include climbing ladders, walk building mechanical spaces and navigate outdoor spaces safely.
