Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager - Art Program.

NYU Langone Health has been implementing a campus transformation master plan that includes numerous renovation and construction projects designed to align its physical environment with its vision for the future. The NYU Langone Art Program and Collection is a comprehensive visual arts program of the highest quality consistent with our vision of being a world class academic medical center. The Art Program and Collection is integrated into the daily life of the medical center providing a life affirming, healing, and supportive environment for patients, families, caregivers, students, faculty and staff. This goal is achieved through acquisitions, commissions, exhibitions, donations of art and other related programming.

Reporting to NYU Langone Art Program Senior Manager who is in charge of the program, the Project Manager will play an important role in various aspects of the Art Program and Collection for the transformation of the NYU Langone main hospital campus as well as its satellite facilities. 

Job Responsibilities:

work independently and in coordination with the Senior Manager of the Art Program, to research, identify sites for integration of artwork, and procure contemporary artwork for the main hospital campus in Manhattan as well as hundreds of off-site facilities throughout the tristate areamanage communication with artists, galleries, and institutions in the U.S. and worldwide in the acquisition of artwork for the NYU Langone Art collectionconduct research on emerging and established U.S. and international artists and on artworks at various price points and specific themes for various medical practices across the main Medical Center as well as the off-site facilities throughout the tri-state areaassist to oversee the Art Program conservation program by performing regular inspection, conservation treatment, and preservation on the artworks of the NYU Langone Art Collection throughout all Medical Center sites and facilities, including 2D and 3D artworks. In addition, assists with the procurement of art conservators to maintain the collectionassist the Senior Manager in researching, procuring, and installing large-scale public art commissions and installations on the NYU Langone Health campus, including the Science Building, the Kimmel Pavilion, the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, and the NYU Langone Orthopedic Centermanage and oversee the Art Collection inventory database of over 3,000 artworks, including works on paper, painting, wall mural installations, and large-scale sculptural installations using art management softwareassist in the management of the Art Program budget expenditures, including project budgets, purchase documentation, risk management records, donation and consignment recordsmanage the coordination with artists, galleries, art institutions, NYU Langone in-house facilities, and all outside art vendors including photographers, framers, and art handlers for the purchase, installation, repair, and preservation of the NYU Langone Art Collectionassist in the management of the NYU Langone Art Gallery, a rotating exhibition space open to the public 24/7. Duties include research, assist with curation, coordinating with the participating artists and artworks, and guest speakers, managing exhibition schedule and costs, installation logistics, special events coordinationdesign the exhibition graphics for the NYU Langone Art Gallery exhibitions and manage the coordination with the NYU Langone Print Shop for the printing, display, and distribution of exhibition materialsmanage the communication with NYU Langone MCIT and the NYU main campus events team, update the Art Program website and NYU Event Calendar and distribute invitations regarding the gallery shows.performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Art History or Fine Art or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture3-5 years’ experience working in Art or ArchitectureKnowledge and understanding of the international art market requiredKnowledge of conservation, installation, art handling, and curating of artwork requiredExpertise in Adobe Design Suite, Art Management software, and Mac and PC software requiredStrong organizational skills and an ability to work on multiple projectsAdvanced aesthetic sensibilityKeen attention to detail and accuracyAbility to communicate effectively and clearly, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Arts Administration or Art History preferredHealthcare Art Management experience preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $110,250.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
