The KLA Global Workplace Services (GWS) team is passionate about enabling the business goals and company culture through the delivery of workplace environments and services that foster teamwork, innovation and productivity. Our team runs a worldwide portfolio of over 3 million square feet, 135 sites and over 12,000 employees. In addition to ensuring the workspace and manufacturing facilities operate seamlessly, this group also provides employee and site services, such as cafeteria, transportation, security, and safety. The team is responsible for all construction and site improvement work to enable the business needs as well as align with the financial requirements.Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
This position will be accountable for project management of US capital projects within the Global Workplace Services organization, serving as the primary lead and liaison for vendors, contractors, internal business customers and partners through all phases of the project lifecycle to support the company’s strategic objectives and plans.
You will work on high-impact clean room, lab, workplace, and technical reconfiguration construction projects of KLA new and existing facilities to further develop innovation while delivering impactful solutions across our portfolio.
Requires the ability to learn internal customer operating preferences and KLA-specific technology to get results that align manufacturing and engineering with their support entities.
Responsibilities include:
Deliver projects from inception, driving the programing, scoping, costing and governance approval of new work
Define, lead, monitor, and reportg project progress, cost, and schedule
Learn how KLA products integrate with the facility infrastructure in terms of installation specifications and utility consumptions. And then work with business partners and customers, engineers, designers, consultants, and contractors to define, plan, procure, implement, monitor, and close projects accordingly
Build cost plans and/or project estimates for scenario analysis and funding approval. Monitor and report project cost including cost commitments and cashflow according to project controls team requirements
Manage source to pay process, including competitive bidding, leveling, award, contracting, PO issuance and vendor payment – in collaboration with KLA procurement and finance
Establish relationships with jurisdictions to understand local entitlement and permit processes and assist in expedition of planning and construction activities
Provide periodic reports for senior management and executive level partners. Maintain effective communication with internal customers, GWS wide team and management
Lead the development of architectural and engineering drawings and reviews at key phases for consistency to standards, brief and best practices and alignment with cost and schedule. Look for project savings and cost avoidance opportunities.
Complete site visits, as required, to monitor project progress and customer satisfaction.
Partner closely with GWS Environmental Health & Safety team to maintain KLA service and safety standards.
Develop methods to optimize HVAC, process piping, and electrical infrastructure, value engineering, and as-built distribution. Work closely with the GWS Operations and MEP design standards team to integrate old and new systems.
Research the latest products and technology surrounding Class 100 cleanroom construction. Bring ideas to KLA to improve upon current designs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s level degree with a minimum eight (8) years of validated experience in capital construction project management.
Deep knowledge and passion about capital program management, construction and related data/technology tools and systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and confirmed ability to effectively represent businesses and drive decisions with senior executives.
A consistent record to influence and collaborate across groups, and at all levels of an organization.
Ability to plan at both a strategic and tactical execution level.
Strong project team management skills, including the ability to allocate resources effectively, define clear deliverables and provide direction
Ability to travel within the US (10% travel time or less anticipated)
Ability to work onsite 3 or more days per week
Adaptable to work on projects of different size and pace, including work in a live dynamic campus environment
Strong project and program management, organizational and entrepreneurial skills.
Familiarity with CAFM and Building Management Systems.
Customer focus by responding promptly and appropriately to customer requests and understanding business needs
Knowledge of conceptual estimating and construction projects, from design development to construction documents, submittals, and permit restrictions.
Ability to read construction drawings and understand MEP systems.
