Description Hybrid opportunity available! A large company based in Newark, NJ is currently seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee a high-profile redevelopment project. The Construction Project Manager will oversee the renovation and buildout of a mixed-use commercial space (retail and office), will liaise with a combination of internal and external stakeholders, and apply budget management skills to ensure efficient spend. This role requires strong coordination skills across multiple audiences, including client stakeholders, Engineers/Architects, Contractors, and Construction staff. The Construction Project Manager will also conduct regular site visits and walkthroughs to ensure alignment with project plans and timelines, as well as to mitigate any risks/potential issues. The ideal Construction Project Manager will have recent experience working for mid-sized to large commercial real estate firms in their construction departments, will be proficient with construction terminology, and will have strong financial management skills. Requirements • Proven experience in managing commercial construction projects • Extensive knowledge of the construction industry and its practices • Demonstrated ability in construction cost estimation and budget management • Proficient in construction management software, particularly Smartsheet • Ability to interpret and manage construction plans and schedules • Strong project management skills in a construction setting • Ability to lead and manage a diverse team in a project-based environment • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively • Knowledge of necessary construction health and safety regulations • Relevant certification or degree in project management or construction management would be advantageous.
