Summary

Spire is seeking a Project Manager I.  This position focuses on applying standards and governance, and creating awareness for Project Management and Change Management techniques on an Enterprise-wide level.  This role will be responsible for managing the company’s cross-functional projects with varying risks, constraints and/or challenges, and will be empowered to focus on value creation.

Duties and Responsibilities

•   Manage a range of projects with varying timelines, cross functionality, requirements and scope.
•    Analyze problems, identify issues, summarize findings and collaborate with the project teams, always with a value-added mindset
•    Assist in implementing change management tools and techniques in a flexible manner to optimize project results
•    Analyze design construction schedule for modifications and update the schedule through-out the project duration
•    Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path, and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and ancillary projects
•    Coordinate project progress meetings to identify action items and provide tracking status for outstanding action items
•    Track and report on financial allocations
•    Track and report on material procurement status, risks and delays
•    Effectively communicate with Stakeholders; provide early and clear escalation of risks, identify to changes in work or direction, demonstrate flexibility in approach
•    Develop comprehensive project documentation and distribute in a timely manner
•    Lead project team members and contractors, influencing all participants to take positive action, be accountable for their assigned work,
•    Work closely with the Project Engineer during the design phase
•    Lead the project team and contractors following contract award
•    Provide monthly project reporting on financial allocations, project schedule and key updates
•    Conduct post-mortems and deliver lessons learned reports
•    Review work and provide feedback to project coordinators
•    All other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

N/A

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in an analytical field (i.e. Engineering, Science, Business, IT) required 

•    Project Management Professional or other recognized project management curriculum (such as PMI-PBA, PMI-ACP) preferred
•    Change management certification preferred
 

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

•   5 years of related project experience required
•    Prior experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects preferred
•    Experience with project management techniques preferred
•    Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required, including MS Project and Sharepoint/Teams
•    Prior experience in the Energy or Utility industry is preferred 
 

Physical demands, environment and schedule

•    Work is normally performed in a shared, open-office environment
•    Requires some work during nonstandard business hours
•    Some travel required for periodic site visits.  Amount depending on employee location and project location
•    Schedule is M-F 8:00AM - 5:00 PM
