The department is responsible for overseeing the design and construction of public infrastructure projects that enhance the community's quality of life. The position will have an emphasis on maintenance and repair of mechanical and building envelope systems, and on aesthetic user facing improvements, and renovations in existing facilities. What you’ll be doing: + Work independently and collaboratively within the Capital Projects Management Department, specifically in the Public Facilities Management Division. + Partner with the facility maintenance team to identify, prioritize, and plan capital maintenance and repair projects for City-owned facilities. + Coordinate with client departments to determine the scope of facility improvements and renovations. + Lead project planning, design, construction, and contract administration efforts for renovation projects. + Manage project budgets, costs, and schedules while ensuring effective communication with cross-functional project teams. + Oversee occupied facilities to maintain service delivery or mitigate interruptions during renovations. + Facilitate smooth handover of operations and maintenance documents after project completion. + Ensure adherence to City standards and regulations throughout project implementation. + Provide leadership for a variety of projects, with the potential to manage new construction projects based on qualifications and department needs. Applicants who meet the following minimum requirements or have comparable experience and/or education will be considered: + Minimum Qualifications: + 3 years of applicable experience in facilities project management or a related field, and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Project/Construction Management; or + 5+ years of applicable facilities project management experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. + Preferred Qualifications: + Professional licensure as a registered architect or engineer will be considered in the context of the City’s Project Manager Career Ladder. + Valid driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with the option to exercise a flexible work schedule after the training period is complete.
