Project Manager Intern

Position Summary

Must Be A Pueblo Of Sandia Tribal Member

Under the supervision of the Director of Project Management, this position is responsible with assisting the Department of Project Management with the coordination of projects. Provides technical and administrative support as related to ongoing projects.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

Assists the Director of Project Management in the coordination of projects with Architectural/Engineering Firm(s), Construction Management firm, and General Contractors.  Works with Project Management Department on process analysis, design, and implementation for organizational and operational optimization. Researches, collects, and analyzes data from a variety of sources including tribal, federal, state, and local governments, community organizations, and other agencies. Assists to ensure compliance with financial, legal, and organizational policies. Provides administrative support to other Project Management staff as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned

Ability to work in a team environment, independently, and with minimal supervision. Ability to meet office deadlines. Ability to keep records and files and compile routine statistical reports Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and public relation skills. Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions Knowledge of the use of technology, equipment and software typically used in the office environment. Ability to communicate via e-mail and other online formats of communication. Strong computer keyboarding and data entry skills. Ability to work occasionally work odd hours and/or on weekends.

Minimum Qualifications, Education And Experience

Required

Candidate must be actively pursuing a BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.

Licensing Status

Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

Work may be performed outdoors and is subject to seasonal extremes and inclement weather. May be subject to odors, dusts, fumes, and gases. Subject to standard office working noise levels while outdoor levels may be much higher. Subject to hazards such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, possible damage to eyesight due to exposure to computer screens, and dangers associated with working outdoors around heavy machinery. Duties require normal dexterity while sitting and standing—also involved are walking, kneeling, climbing, crawling, crouching, and the ability to assume prone positions. Specific required movements include the following:  (25 lbs. Maximum) Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, rotate Legs-push, pull, twist, rotate, balance Hands-grasp, manipulate, rapid movement, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, finger and overall dexterity.
