Project Manager Intern

The Society Business Solutions Unit (SBS) reports into the Chief Operating Officer function and supports all Society Programs. This unit enables ACS goal achievement through data research/analysis, strategic planning, and an array of customer service activities. The Society Business Solutions staff collaborates with IT to oversee the Society Project Prioritization efforts and often serves as partners on IT initiatives supporting planning, testing and execution strategy.

 

Position Summary

The Project Manager intern will work closely with a senior Program/Project Manager to oversee the coordination and completion of all aspects of assigned projects. Support business stakeholders and the SBS team utilizing project management tools and best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project planning and execution: Help develop project timelines and work breakdown structures Assist in defining project scope and deliverables Support the creation of project documentation and presentations •Collaborate with team members to assign tasks and manage dependencies Project tracking and reporting: Monitor project progress against timelines Identify potential risks and assist with developing mitigation plans Create and update project management software with relevant tasks Prepare project status reports Communication and collaboration: Attend project meetings and develop detailed minutes Facilitate communication between team members and stakeholders Proactively identify and address issues that may impact project success

 

Education Requirements:

The Ideal candidate will be a rising college junior, senior or pursuing Masters/ PhD in Business, Information Technology. 

 

Required Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a major in Business, Information Technology or related field.

Pay Transparency: This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office. The following are the intended hourly rates for this part time/nonexempt role: Rising Junior-$23.00; Rising Senior-$24.00; Current Grad/PhD Student- $27.00.

Any actual offer of employment, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be made in the sole discretion of ACS. ACS reserves the right to amend or modify its employment benefits and compensation structure at any time.

 

*This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, two days per week. Schedule flexibility may be required for this role to support in-office activities. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other three days of the week from a location of their choice.
