Project Manager- RMV Project Management Office (Administrator VI)

Position Summary

The Project Manager will play a critical role in managing a diverse range of projects, establishing project standards, and developing training programs to enhance project management practices across the organization. The role requires a business-savvy individual who can liaise effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders across the RMV’s complex organizational structure. This manager will manage projects of varying sizes and complexities, ensuring alignment with business priorities, efficient resource allocation, and high-level reporting to inform decision-making. The project manager will ensure projects are tracked comprehensively across systems and workflows, addressing challenges of differing methodologies and tools used by stakeholders. They will work collaboratively with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure consistent methodologies, effective communication, and alignment with organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects at the RMV that have been prioritized for delivery.Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.Ensure consistent use of tools, templates, and best practices across projects.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication

Serve as a liaison between the business units, internal IT team, and external vendor teams to ensure alignment of project goals and priorities.Facilitate communication and problem-solving across diverse teams to address technical and business challenges.Prepare and deliver high-level reporting on project progress, resource allocation, and prioritization to inform leadership decisions.

Process Improvement and Governance

Establish and refine project intake processes to streamline prioritization and resource allocation.Establish, implement, and maintain project standards and best practices to ensure consistency across all projects.Work with stakeholders to harmonize tracking systems and methodologies across teams, ensuring consistency and transparency.Identify gaps in project reporting and recommend solutions to enhance visibility and accountability.

Risk and Issue Management

Proactively identify, track, and manage project risks and issues to mitigate potential impacts on delivery timelines and business outcomes.Develop contingency plans and communicate with stakeholders to resolve challenges promptly.

Training and Development

Develop and deliver training programs to enhance project management competencies across the organization.Foster a culture of continuous learning by sharing best practices and providing guidance on tools, methodologies, and standards.

AdHoc Project Support

Perform ad hoc project management tasks, including data analysis, resource planning, and process assessments, to address evolving business needs.

Pre-Hire Process

Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants must agree to and successfully satisfy: (i) a comprehensive name-based and fingerprint-based background check of his/her state and federal criminal history records information from all U.S. states, the District of Columbia and certain U.S. Territories and from some foreign nations; (ii) an employment reference check, and (iii) a satisfactory review of his/her driving records to be eligible for this position.

A finalist for this position must be able to pass a comprehensive background check including a criminal record check, Department of Revenue (DOR) check, and employment references.
