The Project Manager manage cradle-to-grave project support, including but not limited to developing life-of-project scope, schedule, and budget estimates; project initiations; project resource procurement and management; frequent status reporting; invoicing; and project closeout upon completion.
Project Manager will support projects funded by multiple federal agencies, research institutions, military, and private companies. Occasional deployment to remote field locations is required.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions
Managing logistical support services for research projects primarily working in Utqiaġvik, Alaska or other rural Alaska Indigenous Communities.Preparing estimates of scope, schedule, and budget for research grant proposals.Tracking project resource usage and managing resource allocations to adhere to project budget requirements.Drafting statements of work and submitting requests for proposals for large procurements.Engaging with directly with clients and other project stakeholders to provide frequent project performance updates.Using multiple different budget and resource tracking software programsPreparing and submitting written reports or giving oral presentations on project performance.
Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:
Billing and invoicing experienceAdvanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. To receive and respond to instructions/assignments, must be able to read, write and speak English. Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a teamMust be able to obtain Federal security clearance QualificationsRequired Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferredProject Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred5-years experience logistics management
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodicallyOccasional field work and deployment to remote locations may be required.
