This position is responsible for providing design and oversight of water/wastewater utility projects for public, private and municipal utility district clients. In addition to leading a team of engineers and technical professionals, this position will also be actively involved in professional associations and community organizations as Pape-Dawson continues building partnerships within the community we serve.
ResponsibilitiesWhat can you expect on a daily basis?
Prepare proposals, budgets and client agreementsLead and oversee design and technical aspects of the team(s) projects including detailed engineering design and calculations, report writing, permitting and presentations to clientsWrite responses to client RFQs and SolicitationsDevelop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leadersCoordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets and schedulesResponsible for the technical and professional development of project team(s)Participate in the development of company design and production standardsActively participate in professional associations and civic organizations within the communityPreparation of creation reports and bond applications for municipal utility districtsAttend monthly board meetings for municipal utility districtsProviding leadership in these daily activities, among others, will continue the Pape-Dawson vision of becoming the most respected engineering firm in Texas.
QualificationsWhat qualifications are needed and key to this role?
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or universityProfessional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Texas5 years' of experience managing substantial water and wastewater projects from conception to completion5 years’ of experience managing municipal utility district clients and/or public clientsExtensive knowledge of design and construction practices for waterlines, storage tanks, pump stations, wastewater lines, lift stations and force mainsSome knowledge of water and wastewater treatment facility design and construction and general knowledge of modeling water distribution and wastewater conveyance systemsProven ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written skillsProven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, municipal utility districts, public agency officials and community leadersProven ability to lead a team of engineers and technical professionalsActively involved in professional associations and civic organizationsMust be able to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through FridayAll qualified applicants for Pape-Dawson Engineers will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
