Material Control Specialist

SUMMARY
The Material Control Specialist I position is an entry-level position that requires basic knowledge of logistic functions and begins to develop skills through Certified Training and work assignments. Responsible for the receiving, shipping, inventory, and material handling of inventory required to support customer orders and production requirements. These functions are expected while providing the upmost safety guidelines and customer services high standards to our internal and external customers.
2.0 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Safe operation of forklift, pallet jacks, and extended lifts. Completing daily Forklift Checklist to verify equipment is in proper working order. Request a Maintenance Order for any mechanical or electrical defects and removing the equipment from operation.
• Unload, unpack, and verify materials received from suppliers against packing list. Report shortages to lead and coordinate with purchasing personnel to resolve with the vendor.
• Unload, unpack, and accurately verify customer return materials (serial numbers & part numbers) against appropriate documentation.
• Safely package product according to work instructions.
• Stage and load outbound packages/crates as required.
• Perform periodic warehouse inventory counts to validate inventory levels.
• Pick, pull, put-away, and deliver items per transfer orders.
• Perform accurate real time Transactions in SAP & SharePoint
• Delivery mail and product to designated locations
• Perform miscellaneous material handling activities in which may include reorganizing, repackaging, consolidation, clean up or as instructed.
• Maintain all 6-S responsibilities as assigned.
• Perform other such duties as may be required.
3.0 OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.

• Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
• Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license or privilege by date of employment and thereafter and maintain it in good status.

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; and at least twelve (12) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fork lift certification is preferred.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
