Project Mgr, Retail Initiative
Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for strategic initiatives such as new store openings, store relocations, store renovations, company capital projects, and other strategic initiatives are executed.  This role will provide management and oversight of various contractors and store management across the nation to ensure these retail initiatives are deployed on time, on budget, and ensure quality control.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) Lead and coordinate, while on-site, multiple store merchandising projects by providing oversight, ensuring transparency to key stakeholders, and driving successful results. Provide operational support/manage operational escalations for all Tractor Supply and third party team members involved in assigned merchandising projects. Build efficient processes/workflows for on time, efficient execution with a constant eye toward achieving Tractor Supply Company Standards. Drive team communication, both within cross-functional internal partners, third party partners and leadership team. Work with key stakeholders to understand the related business strategies, objectives and priorities, while ensuring alignment in supporting the current business strategy Direct third party vendors to complete remodels and merchandising initiative projects, Relocation Store, and Merchandising Initiative projects while meeting contract requirements and Tractor Supply Company required timelines. Review and monitor projects for compliance with TSC standards.   Conduct a thorough review of all hard copy documents as well as the electronic information. Develop and document training plans and conduct training meetings for the Tractor Supply Company operational teams and third party teams to convey merchandising standards for all things merchandising related including setting planograms, installing fixtures, installing signage, etc. Evaluate all exceptions that may occur during the store setup process and choose an appropriate form of action to complete the store ensuring an on time store opening while adhering to Tractor Supply Company merchandising standards. Communicate effectively to the Store Support Center involved parties the status of the projects, any roadblocks to completion, and needed support to achieve resolutions. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Manage project through comprehensive completion including punch walk. Follow company guidelines while scheduling travel plans including hotel, rental car, and flight reservations. Track and report all work related expenses.  Required Qualifications

Experience: 5 years of retail management, project management, store setup, or related experience required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, is preferred Ability to read and understand basic store floor plans, planograms, and fixture schematics Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required High attention to detail with excellent organization skills Ability to work as a part of a team while also working independently, demonstrating sound judgement Effective time management while handling multiple projects in a deadline driven environment Ability to move objects weighing 50 pounds for distances up to 30ft Demonstrate a good standing driver’s license Ability to travel extensively
