The Project Manager III – Strategy Execution Lead at Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is responsible for overseeing the execution of strategic initiatives that align with the 10-year Strategic Plan. This role involves serving as a liaison to internal departments to support and/or manage multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager III – Strategy Execution Lead will work closely with the AVP, Enterprise Strategy, and Customer Experience to drive strategic initiatives, enhance operational efficiency, and support customer experience improvements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the execution of strategic projects, monitoring progress, adjusting plans as necessary, and addressing issues promptly to ensure timely completion and project continuity.Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to gather requirements, secure resources, ensure stakeholder alignment, and facilitate effective communication among project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, as needed.Implement systems for tracking project performance and impact, using metrics and KPIs to assess progress and outcomes. Provide regular updates and detailed reports to the AVP, Enterprise Strategy, and Customer Experience, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.Ensure that all strategic projects consider and enhance the customer experience, aligning with DART's mission to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction, utilizing customer feedback and insights to inform project development and execution.Support the integration of new technologies and innovative practices into strategic projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging creative problem-solving and the adoption of best practices. Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successful elements and areas for improvement, applying lessons learned to future projects.Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints and providing accurate financial reports to stakeholders, as needed.Performs other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums, excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Eight (8) years of experience in strategic planning or related roles, with experience fostering innovation and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, including four (4) years of project management experience. Complex project management experience in a large, dynamic organization is preferred.PMP certification is preferred.Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen to operate DART non-revenue vehicles.Proficiency in PC software applications, including Microsoft Office, project management tools, and performance monitoring software or other related software applications.Predominantly office-based with occasional site visits for project monitoring.Participation in meetings and workshops within and outside of DART facilities may be required.Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects in a large, dynamic organization.Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Agile approach and adaptive problem-solving skills to effectively address challenges and leverage opportunities in real time.Deep understanding of customer experience principles to enhance service delivery.Business acumen and operational expertise to drive organizational performance and leverage technology for strategic advantage.Change management skills to handle organizational change, including the ability to manage resistance and secure buy-in from various stakeholders.Emotional intelligence to manage and lead teams empathetically and effectively.Knowledge of budget development/analysis and operational cost factors.Analytical, research, and creative skills to find solutions to complex interpersonal, technical, and administrative problems.Interpersonal skills.Leadership skills to guide and inspire teams.The ability to communicate a compelling and inspired vision or sense of core purpose makes the vision sharable by everyone.Ability to maneuver through complex political situations effectively and quietly, sensitive to how people and organizations function.Ability to think strategically and drive projects that align with organizational goals.Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.Ability to quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all, representing their own interests while being fair to other groups.Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
