Project Planner
Job Title: Project PlannerJob Description The Project Planner is responsible for coordinating, planning, and scheduling all capital project, outage, and maintenance-related activities from initiation to completion in a cost-effective manner. This role involves collaboration with Construction Supervisors for work estimates and reviewing contractor work proposals. The Project Planner will utilize cost control methods and work within budgetary allotments to accomplish required tasks. Effective communication and coordination of significant work activities with all affected groups are essential to anticipate and minimize schedule and cost conflicts and delays. Responsibilities + Scope, plan, and estimate contractor work in accordance with the procedure for 'Planning Contracted Work' ES-CM-100. + Ensure work packages are complete, including all HEC procedures, confined space and burn permits, job aides, maintenance procedures, PM attachments, safe work practices, and environmental policies. + Develop, maintain, and monitor P6 schedules related to outages, maintenance, and projects. + Ensure common understanding of the projects among all stakeholders, especially the responsible Contract Supervisors. + Maintain and communicate any changes to contractor project schedules (daily, weekly, outage work, etc.). + Monitor and reduce overtime usage while proactively exploring ways to increase productivity. + Ensure work orders are properly routed or filed, and any follow-up actions are accomplished upon job completion. + Provide leadership in implementing company and departmental goals with team members. + Provide guidance to the Planning Associate position concerning planning and scheduling contractor work. + Review and approve invoices for planned work and route them for further authorization approvals as required. + Perform any other duties or special assignments as assigned by the E & PM Manager, Construction. Essential Skills + Experience in large industrial plants or power plants + Proficient knowledge of work management systems related to planning, scheduling, and tracking maintenance work and equipment in a heavy industrial facility + Clear understanding of maintenance and outage management best practices and procedures + Ability to develop and maintain KPI metrics and POW schedules + Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint + Strong communication skills with the ability to gather, compile, and communicate information effectively Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in planning and creating work packages (preferred) + Proficient using scheduling software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project (preferred) + College Degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or related degree from an accredited institution (preferred) + Minimum of 2 years as a Planner Estimator I or 6 years of work experience related to the duties and responsibilities of this position Work Environment This position requires working in an industrial environment, including heights and confined spaces. Some travel locally, nationally, and limited internationally is expected. The supervisor must work in an operating power plant environment, which may include nights, weekends, and overtime to support outage goals. PPE is required, and the job involves walking, bending, and climbing for 20% to 50% of the workday. Sitting at a desk/computer workstation is required for up to 50% of the workday. Travel to power stations is frequent, and working outdoors in various weather conditions for 25% to 50% of the workday is expected. The work environment may include areas of elevated noise, requiring hearing protection, and occasional 'on call' availability. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00 Retirement benefits. Team members have two company-sponsored retirement plans:o 401k Retirement Savings Plan matches $.75 to each dollar team members contribute up to 6 percent of salary, with a potential for an additional $.25 based on company performance. You can begin participating on day-one of employment and contributions are vested immediately. o Retirement (pension) Plan is fully company-funded and provides retirement income at no cost to you. You do not make contributions to this plan. You earn a portion of your benefit each year you are employed. You become a participant on first of the month aftercompleting a year of employment, provided you are age 21 by that date. After three years of service, or when you reach age 65, you are 100 percent vested in the benefit you have accrued.
