Project Planner - Defence

As a Project Planner, you'll be at the heart of our client's project success. Your primary responsibilities will be to develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, ensuring everything runs smoothly and on time. Your schedules will be used to identify critical paths within the program.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with key stakeholders to develop accurate bid and project schedules.Maintain project schedules in line with a monthly update cycle, ensuring accuracy.Identify and highlight areas of schedule and cost concern, proposing actions to improve performance.Inform the Project Manager (PM) of any tasks or issues that could impact key milestones.Ensure schedule integrity by adhering to industry best practices.Coordinate data transfer between various program management software systems to capture accurate performance data.Prepare and maintain Contract/Task Change Proposals (CCP/TCP) and other relevant documentation.Integrate scope variations via CCP/TCPs into existing project schedules, analyzing their impact on the program.Regularly report on project progress and performance to the project team.Analyze project schedule and cost performance.Assist the PM in resource leveling and other techniques to identify strategies for reducing costs and improving schedule performance.Support planning functions, including project structure documentation, and maintain and update cost status of work packages.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years of experience in project planning/schedulingCompetent user of Primavera (scheduling software)Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with upper managementReliability Clearance and Controlled Goods certification requiredAdditional Skills & QualificationsPrior experience in the engineering or defence industry is desirableHigh level of computing skills, particularly with MS OfficeDemonstrated analytical skillsWork Environment

This position requires 32 hours per week, ideally Monday to Thursday, with a hybrid work arrangement (2 days in the office, 2 days remote). The location is in Ottawa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
