Summary
The Project Planner III assists project and functional managers in defining and planning material requirements for Engineering projects. In this role, the Project Planner provides regular updates on material status, hardware deficiencies, and vendor and sourcing challenges. One is responsible for building status reports and visibility in support of specific Engineering programs.
Position Responsibilities
Assists the project engineers with creating a project Bill of MaterialMaintains and updates the BOM with material status, requirements, vendor information, and pricingSources and requests pricing estimates for R&D parts across all commoditiesResponsible for ordering all project material via purchase requisitions to PurchasingRepresents Engineering group as appropriate in discussions with Procurement and suppliersTracks and expedites project material through Purchasing in line with program prioritiesManages all requests for Production Inventory, Sales Orders, Government Furnished Material, etc.Provides support to program and customer reviews as requiredAssists Finance in gathering budgetary pricing for ProposalsOther duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
High School diploma or GED equivalent requiredMinimum of 8+ years' planning experience working in an engineering development environmentDemonstrated knowledge of engineering development processesExperienced reading and interpreting engineering drawings and bills of materialsProficient in MS Excel. MS Word, PowerPoint is requiredOccasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S (20%)Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
BS degree or equivalent technical degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experiencePrevious experience with Purchasing and Supplier Sourcing preferredPrevious Planning experience with development projects preferredPrevious Aerospace experience preferredExperience working with MS Project preferredDemonstrates strong analytical skills with which to solve various degrees of logistical problemsDemonstrates strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbalAble to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of dutiesDisplays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectivesTakes ownership and responsibility for current and past work productsIs committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the companyFocuses on teamwork and puts the success of the team above one's own interestsPhysical Demands

$97,680 - $138,600AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
ITAR Requirement:
This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
