Project Scheduler

Are you a dedicated team member eager to be at the forefront of driving continued efforts towards project management standard methodologies and making a positive impact to the central Texas community? We are looking for an experienced Project Scheduler (position title is Business Systems Analyst Sr.) to join the PMO’s Project Controls team in a SME and trainer capacity. Our team supports 400+ PMO-led projects across our organization in various areas from technology to construction. The candidate to be selected for this role must have proven hands-on experience using Primavera (P6) scheduling software and training individuals and teams. This is a hybrid position, working at the General Office Complex in Austin, TX a minimum of two days per week based on current policies subject to change.

Our ideal candidate for this position has significant experience in Primavera P6 scheduling, analysis, and related training. This dynamic and multifaceted role supports all project portfolios by serving as the point of contact for scheduling support and issues, providing training, and serving as lead and mentor for less experienced staff. Having knowledge of large ERP systems, experience with Oracle, PeopleSoft, and project management information systems are beneficial to this role.

- Provide support to the PMO and other P6 users in project controls and scheduling functions
- Provide PMO wide guidance and training on P6 scheduling and analysis, DCMA 14 Point Schedule Assessment, scheduling structure and calculations, in-depth knowledge on schedule logic relationships, constraints, progression and update cycles, critical path methodology, and schedule trends and issues.
- Provide P6 training for new users and PMO’s continuous department training
- Support end users by resolving P6 issues/errors, knowledge sharing, and implementing LCRA and industry standard methodologies, processes, and procedures
- Use P6 and PMO dashboards to analyze and communicate variances, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities to ensure accurate and consistent project data
- Develop skills to maintain and administer the Primavera P6 System for LCRA
- Creating and supporting user documentation for project controls
- Assist with department projects and initiatives, such as, version updates, ensuring data integrity, process optimization, and implementation of new functionality
- Use P6 EPPM Risk functionality in assessing portfolio risk and facilitate reporting
- Use P6 EPPM Schedule Check Report to analyze project schedule quality and performance
- Work with customers to improve the value of the Primavera tools based on business need
- Collaborate with management and customers to evolve project scheduling and reporting
- Collaborate with management and customers to develop and implement industry standard methodologies

You qualify with:

- Nine or more years of experience in developing and documenting business requirements and serving as a liaison between business partners & IT or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in business, computer science, information systems or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

- Proven experience in project management, project controls, engineering, or work package management.
- A degree(s) in project management, business, finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, science, computer science.
- PMI certification (PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP)
- AACE certification (AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP)
- Advanced/expert experience developing and analyzing project schedules in P6
- Advanced/expert knowledge in scheduling and analysis, critical path, resource loaded schedules, earned value, cost control
- Prior experience as scheduler or administrator using Primavera P6 EPPM 8 or higher, Primavera Desktop Professional 18 or higher
- Experience as P6 Administrator.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines required.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
