Overview JOB SUMMARY: This position manages construction schedules for a broad range of projects and works with project management staff to develop, maintain, and progress the project construction schedules. LOCATION: Town & remote project sites SCHEDULE: Town - Mon-Fri+; Projects - Mon-Sun HOURS: Town – 40+, Projects – 70+ **This position can be filled in either Fairbanks, AK or Anchorage, AK** Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand, practice and continually lead by example Doyon Associated’s commitment to zero incident safety and environmental culture. This individual is expected to have a strong understanding of P6 scheduling software. This position does not require a lot of field experience. Update and maintain project schedules in P6. Identifies major schedule milestones from contract Scopes of Work. Determines reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussion with the Project Team. Develops and updates on a weekly basis the three-week look-ahead schedule(s) with manpower loading, incorporating construction strategy input. Communicates schedule status to management regularly. Interact with engineering discipline leads & construction managers to understand issues and conflicts impacting schedule. Develops and maintains spreadsheets for various phases of construction projects Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Accountable for creating all construction schedules, including establishing baseline schedules and updates as work progresses. Working with Project Controls, prepares weekly and monthly reports on expenditures, progress, commitments, budget performance and schedule performance Provides regular briefing to project manager and project controls manager schedule issues and concerns Continually promote and practice teamwork. Understanding of how corporate policies, procedures, practices, and processes relate to projects and clients. Participate in required client meetings to include management, cost controls, construction and other meetings as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position may or may not supervise other schedulers depending on size of project scope. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum three (3) years experience in construction scheduling using P6 or similar software. Minimum one (1) year experience as field engineer or similar position on arctic pipeline construction projects. COMPETENCIES: Must be proficient in Primavera scheduling software or similar. Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to speak before small and large groups. Strong analytical and report writing skills. Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Adobe, and Windows. Ability to learn, understand and effectively use client and DAL’s corporate management information systems. Good working knowledge of scheduling concepts including activity relationships, resource loading and progress measurement methods. Ability to use advanced and intermediate mathematical concepts and skills. Demonstrated ability to accurately, effectively and quickly use and logically apply mathematical principals and formulas in computer generated reports, evaluations and all other correspondence. Ability to understand totality of projects and the reasoning behind decisions made by construction supervision to keep projects on schedule and within budgets. Strong ability to reason with client’s project management and construction supervision. PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40+ pounds. May be required to stand, sit, or walk for reasonable periods of time. Operate personal computer for extended periods. Work outdoors in weather extremes and near equipment with potentially high noise levels. Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record.
