Job Description
Staff Scientist / NEPA support specialist - General Description:

As part of a team, the ideal candidate will provide successful and timely completion of technical environmental and engineering consulting projects. The candidate will participate in conveying technical information with support from the technical teams. The candidate must be highly organized and fluent in most Microsoft Office suite software programs (Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word). Daily assignments will include document control, uploading/downloading and delivery of pertinent project information, tracking project and report progress, and general administrative office support as needed. The candidate will also possess the ability to review and understand applicable environmental regulations and provide materials that support regulatory National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance documents. The successful candidate is one who is responsive, organized, communicates well, and can prioritize and manage multiple tasks. This is a fast-paced role which requires frequent communication.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Program SupportAssists with the coordination of overall project completion.Compose and proofread e-mails, letters, and other client and office correspondence.Communicate project status and delivery schedule directly to clients and technical personnel.Maintain existing tracking spreadsheets with updates for ongoing projects status.Inform project team members and clients about project schedule, status, and deliverable updates.Follow safety rules, practices, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning as needed and report any safety issues or concerns to management. Maintain quality standards on all projects and deliverables.
Technical SupportPreparation of NEPA and associated regulatory compliance documents.Review and understand/apply applicable NEPA regulations.Utilize web-based systems and programs for project delivery and support.Assist with administrative functions such as printing, mailing, and other support.Quality Assurance/Quality Control of deliverables.Adherence to project schedules and timelines.
Requirements:
bachelor's degree, preferably environmental science or equivalent.Must be highly organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a team environment.Fluent in Microsoft Outlook (email management), Excel, Teams, and Word.Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
