The candidate will work with Investigators in the UCLA Magnetic Resonance Research Laboratories (MRRL), the UCLA-VA Division of Cardiology, and the UCLA Diagnostic Cardiovascular Imaging Section of Radiology. Projects include: 1) developing and applying advanced cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging methods to detect and quantify indices of cardiovascular disease in human patients and animal models and 2) image-based computational modeling of the cardiovascular system. The projects are in the areas of ischemic-reperfusion /hemorrhagic myocardial infarction and heart failure, ischemic microvascular heart disease, and congenital heart disease.

A Ph.D., M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment are expected. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Ph.D. candidates should hold a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Material Science, Physiology, or a closely related field.
