Salary: $18.57 - $19.78
Position Overview : We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Project SEARCH Skills Trainer to provide individualized support and training for interns during their internship rotations, helping them develop competitive and marketable skills for successful employment. This role involves job coaching, task analysis, and collaboration with various stakeholders, including interns, families, employers, and agency personnel, to ensure successful training and placement. The Skills Trainer will assist with vocational assessments, provide training in areas such as grooming, communication, and interviewing, and offer travel training when necessary. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to problem-solve, use positive reinforcement techniques, and remain adaptable to the needs of interns and employers. The position also requires attending training, maintaining professional growth, and adhering to privacy regulations while fostering a supportive and productive work environment.
Work Location: Geneva General Hospital - Geneva, NY
Schedule: Part-Time (25 hours) Monday-Friday with flexibility in schedule to meet agency needs

Responsibilities
+ Provides individualized support for intern during the internship rotation in order for the intern to acquire competitive and marketable skills. This could include: systematic instruction to teach and break down tasks, building natural supports, developing accommodations, identifying appropriate assistive technology, etc
+ Communicates effectively with Project SEARCH Instructor, other skills trainers, internship managers/mentors, co-workers, family members, and school and agency personnel as it relates to the student being trained.
+ Performs specific task analysis, especially when intern is challenged to learn and perform tasks to a productive and quality level.

Requirements
+ High School diploma or GED and two years of related work experience working with students or adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities in a school-to-work transition or vocational capacity strongly preferred, or a combination of education and experience typically represented by an Associate's degree in a human service field
