Project/ Senior Design Engineer

If you are a Design Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting position for you! Based in our Eden Prairie, MN location, you will work on engineering and managing projects for new and existing products.

PRODUCTS WE ENGINEER:

We design and develop magnetic and vortex flowmeter products delivering highly accurate flow measurements, better than 0.25% of flow. In magnetic flowmeters this requires generating controlled magnetic fields to induce a microvolt signal which is converted, temperature compensated, and communicated in analog or digital forms to higher level control systems. Vortex Flowmeters capture a tiny mechanical movement using a piezoelectric sensor which is processed similarly to magnetic flowmeters and sent to control systems.

Both products use common industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Fieldbus, Ethernet, Profibus, 4-20 mA, etc) and local display outputs. They operate in very hazardous locations requiring explosion-proof and intrinsically safe capabilities. The sensors are installed in customer piping systems and must meet industry standards while operating through a large range of process conditions such as pressure, temperature, and chemical compatibility.  Each product is deployed in a wide variety of industries to use natural resources efficiently, produce products we rely on, and ensure worker safety.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
