Project Structural Engineer

We are hiring for a Project Structural Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis and lead design projects at our Lehigh Valley office in the Bethlehem, PA area.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee a variety structural design, renovation, and inspection projects for various applications:  renovations, adaptive reuse, etc. Perform structural design & analysis of building structural systems for a variety of projects / types of building structures. Design, detailing, and analysis of structures with a variety of materials. Prepare calculations and drawings for reports. Develop finite element models for the analysis of complex structures. Collaborate as part of a team to develop structural construction documentation. Contribute to project coordination efforts as well as mentoring less-experienced staff members, when needed. Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

 

 

Basic Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related technical discipline (i.e.:  Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, etc.). 5 years of professional experience working in Engineering (preferably with Structural projects). Active P.E. license in PA (we will consider candidates who are able to successfully obtain their PE within 6 months of their start date).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Management and/or Project Management experience; proven ability to oversee multi-disciplinary projects is a plus! Experience working with assessment of existing structures as well as with the assessment & development of new building structures; experience working with Adaptive Reuse projects is a plus! Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.:  CADD, BIM, project management software, etc.); exposure to AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and/or Bluebeam Revu is a plus! Proficiency on basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to collaborate with our team while demonstrating a self-motivated demeanor and effective multi-tasking skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
