This position will be responsible for supporting the Production department at the Coaldale, Alberta French Fry facility. The successful candidate will deal with specific projects, as assigned, arising from the daily operation of the process beginning at raw material receiving through to finished product packaging. Key areas will include, but are not limited to, impacting plant objectives and interdepartmental projects. Under the direction of the Production Manager, you will support the plant strategy through the SQCDPE, SCA and MDI framework as we work towards continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Accountabilities:
Active participation in health & safety initiatives, taking a lead role in safety optimization and the drive towards zero incidents. Ensure proper safety policies and procedures are followed.
Work closely with the Shift Managers and other Supervisors to achieve production goals and KPIs efficiently. Responsible to ensure the production department meets targets in all objectives; quality, cost, delivery, safety, morale and environment (QCDSME).
Provide the leadership and initiative to ensure the successful implementation and sustainment of MDI. Proactively manage change in a way to help ensure continuous improvement success.
Learn and develop the key skills required to implement all DMS across the plant. Help create ownership and shared results from process improvements.
Develop and utilize tools that will maximize the effectiveness of MDI and sustain them over time. This includes but is not limited to OSI PI, Defect Logs, Centerlines, CID Routes and other related continuous improvement tools.
Track and report KEY milestones and metrics related to plant MDI goals.
Provide a professional work environment with internal and external customers. Must be able to effectively manage up, down, and across the organization and successfully build collaborative relations across plant team leadership
Ensure all HACCP guidelines, rules and regulations are being followed throughout their area of responsibility, including the proper completion of all required documentation.
Lead and sustain the Global BOP (Best Operating Practice) platform.
Lead and implement Process Optimization and Recipe Control management.
Lead in process improvement initiatives.
Support Tech Services when on site.
Backfill other Supervisors, as required.
Qualifications:
A thorough understanding of plant operations and the production flow.
Demonstrated progressively responsible experience working in various factory positions.
Post-Secondary education is a requirement, Experience in a supervisory capacity will be considered an asset.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written).
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills.
Proficient with SAP, OSI Pi, Power BI.
To be able to consistently challenge continuous improvement to achieve superior results.
Drive engagement through coaching and training during each DMS
Work with the teams to set and achieve stretch goals for the event; encourage calculated risks based on facts
Help the teams to analyze situations and break problems down into manageable parts; consider multiple solutions to a given problem; act only on facts/data.
About the team
This Project Supervisor will join our leadership team at our Coaldale Potato facility. This position reports directly to the Production Manager and is a key member of the Plant Leadership team and works cross functionally within all departments.
