Lunda Construction Co., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our project site in Grayville, Illinois.  The project is the new I-64 bridges over the Wabash River.

DESCRIPTION:

The Project Surveyor will be responsible for the utilization of project controls and staking using a total station, GPS, and computer software in project assignments. In addition, this position will be responsible for all aspects of project control including, but not limited to, field data collection, topographical surveys, and construction stakeout road and bridge construction.

As a Project Surveyor at Lunda Construction, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

Provide surveying services, which include construction survey and layout on bridges, highways, foundations, and other related heavy civil projects Assists with survey computations and data collection including construction layout calculations, grade sheet computation, topographical/volume analysis, and project data conversion/transformation. Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and as-built surveys. Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain or structures. Oversee all survey aspects of project construction. Conducting plan research and review. Preparation of as-built plans.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in surveying, surveying technology, or other related science. 2 or more years of experience with land surveying; experience with large heavy civil projects is desired Experience operating a robotic tool station, GPS, and level. Proficiency in DOT standards, code lists, and all survey requirements. Knowledge of geological description principles and methods. Knowledge of applicable laws, legal codes, and government regulation. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Valid Driver’s License required, and candidate must pass be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report background check. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance. Must be able to work outdoors on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions. Ability to work at heights. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment drug screen. Applicants will be required to travel to, or live nearby Grayville, IN. AutoCAD experience preferred, but not required. Ability to build TIN/BIM maps preferred, but not required. IDOT or INDOT experience preferred but not required.
