Hourly Rate: $26.44 - $27.88
Position Summary:
Full-time MSAW Program Coordinator available for our Migrant & Seasonal Agricultural Workers (MSAW) Program in Mount Vernon, WA. The person in this position will oversee the Promotores Program activities. The primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of Promotores in Whatcom and Skagit Counties; program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation; working with various Sea Mar departments for the integration of services; and collaborating with local service providers and key community members to implement the program. In addition, the Promotor(a) Coordinator will be required to attend Sea Mar community events such as Fiestas Patrias, Winter Holiday Event, Semana Binacional de Salud, and other organization-sponsored fairs and activities.
This position works Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional flexible hours. Based out of Sea Mar's Skagit Valley Women's Clinic, candidates must have the ability to travel within Whatcom and Skagit county weekly. Well-developed organization skills and ability to recruit, motivate and lead a team of Promotores de Salud. Knowledge and skills in health education and program development and evaluation. Familiarity with primary health care delivery and community services/resources. Experience with migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSAW). Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software programs. Degree in health education, public health, social work, community nursing, or related field is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Create new partnership with growers in order to reach as much farmworkers as possible.
+ Participate in community activities and maintain cooperative relationships with them.
+ Assist Promotores/as in working with local growers, warehouse administrator, health and social
service providers to meet the health education needs and make accessible preventive health exams for residents in their camps connecting them with other programs, helping them to navigate the health system.
+ Collect data and generate reports for each specific time line task of each project.
+ Meet regularly with the Program Manager and Promotores Coordinator to problem solve, report
on progress, planning, etc.
+ Participate in meetings with growers, community partners, new potential sites that allow you to
ensure project compliance.
+ Participate in meetings with funders and in planning for future projects activities.

Knowledge and Skills
+ Knowledge and skills in program development, implementation and evaluation.
+ Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to recruit and lead a team of Promotores.
+ Familiarity with and 1 year experience in primary health care delivery or social services
+ Program management skills
+ Proficient in Mircrosoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint software programs
+ Training, facilitation, and adult education skills
+ Familiarity with migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs) and MSFW issues
+ Commitment to social justice and empowerment
+ Ability to organize information, communicate ideas
+ Ability to work independently
+ Flexibility, empathy, determination
+ Experience as a migrant and/or seasonal farmworker or Promotor(a) a plus
+ Bilingual (Spanish/ English) required
Education and/or Experience:
Must have a degree in health education, public health, social work, community nursing, or equivalent life experience. Success in cross-cultural work, including the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and values). Should be familiar with community leaders. Additionally, be able to “connect” with migrant and seasonal farmworkers and other community individuals. Mus have a commitment to agency’s philosophy and mission. Good written and verbal skills in English and Spanish.
