To help realize this goal, they are leveraging visual analytics platforms to analyze, visualize, and share information. At Steampunk you will design and develop solutions to high-impact, complex data problems, working with the best and data practitioners around. Our data exploitation approach is tightly integrated with Human-Centered Design and DevSecOps. 

Contributions

We are looking for motivated a Prompt Engineer to work with our existing team of Data Scientists and Engineers to use Generative AI technology in supporting Federal use cases. The ideal candidate will have experience in natural language processing (NLP) and a deep understanding of machine learning models, specifically large language models (LLMs). The Prompt Engineer will be responsible for creating, testing, and optimizing prompts to ensure the best possible performance for the AI systems we create for our customers. We are looking for more than just a "Prompt Engineer", but a technologist with excellent communication and customer service skills and a passion for data and problem solving. 

Design, develop, and test prompts for various use cases. Optimize prompt performance through iterative testing and refinement. Collaborate with data scientists and NLP experts to enhance prompt effectiveness. Analyze model responses to identify areas for improvement. Conduct data analysis to evaluate prompt performance and make data-driven recommendations. Collect and preprocess data for training and testing purposes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, and UX designers, to integrate prompts into applications. Support an Agile software development lifecycle.You will contribute to the growth of our AI & Data Exploitation Practice!

 

Qualifications

 

Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US governmentBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Linguistics, or a related field2-4 years proven experience in natural language processing and machine learning2-4 years of experience with programming languages such as Python2-4 years of experience with NLP libraries and frameworks (e.g., spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesFamiliarity with prompt engineering and large language models (e.g., Llama3, GPT-4) is highly desirableExperience with data analysis tools and techniquesExperience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for deploying machine learning modelsExperience with DevSecOps, as it applies to data science and MLOps Knowledge of data preprocessing and feature engineeringUnderstanding of ethical considerations in AI and NLPThis position will require travel to the client site one time per week
