Prop Designer - Unannounced Disney Series (Disney Television Animation)
**About the Role & Team** We're looking for an experienced Prop Designer to join an unannounced series at Disney Television Animation! Prop Designers are responsible for creating and designing all assets that are not Characters or Background elements for each episode. **What You Will Do** + Design props based on story elements and script descriptions that are consistent with the look and style of the series. May also design effects as needed. + Design multiple concept pieces for each prop, trying out different versions of the same asset. + Create turnarounds and provide a clean pass of the final approved design. + Work closely with production and the Color Stylist to get clean designs to them in a timely manner for shipping. + Prepare all prop designs for shipment to oversees vendor animation studios. + Work closely with Art Director to resolve design issues and deadlines. + Adhere to the production schedule provided by Line Producer to ensure cost effective, timely production. + Additional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contracts. **Required Qualifications & Skills** + Knowledge of drawing software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D technology, where applicable. + A robust portfolio of various Prop Designs for animated shows + Proven ability to align to the style and sensibility of a particular show. + Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. + Positive attitude with the ability to take creative feedback and address notes. + Excellent organizational and communication skills. **Preferred Qualifications** + Previous experience working in a television animation pipeline **Education:** The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training. The pay rate for this role in California is $56.88 to $60.33 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
