Your Mission:
Join ClearEdge as a Property Accountant where you will operate and ensure financial information for a portfolio of properties is in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company policy, and contractual requirements. The portfolio is a small yet growing Real Estate portfolio consisting of commercial offices, mixed use, and residential locations with various tenants and lease durations. Collaborate with leadership to assist in the growth of the portfolio services through completing reconciliations, analysis and recordation of various tasks, and identified internal control activities within the property portfolio is managed, maintained, and achieved. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external vendors/tenants/etc to ensure leases and contractual agreements are maintained, executed, and up to dateYou will excel in this role if you are:A person who enjoys working as a member in a small teamSelf-motivated with a desire to build new skills as use their knowledge to further grow with the companySkilled in accounting system implementation, audits, and content managementOrganized and able to communicate with internal and external partiesExperienced with Real Estate accounting standards and portfolio growth A day in the life: Completing and verifying monthly journal entries to include rental revenue, CAM accrual and direct tenant billings, monthly operating expense contract accruals, and other operating expensesCoordinating payables and receivables with partners, vendors, customers, tenants, and internal teams for accuracy Implementing, Auditing, and Maintaining company selected software programs/accounting systemsReviewing and verifying lease documents to ensure accurate billings and CAM cost pool set-upReviewing and maintaining tenant/customer accounts for completeness and accuracy against leases or other agreementsCoordinating customer/tenant/vendor onboarding and offboarding/closeoutWhat we are expecting from you:A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business, Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university is required or advanced degree preferred. Equivalent work experience of four (4) years may be considered for substitution in lieu of the degree.A minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience is requiredA working knowledge of accounting systems including Yardi Voyager, P2P, etcProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and ability to learn additional company selected software with ability to adapt to changing softwareWorking knowledge of GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Sarbanes OxleyNice to have:Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or in progress certification is desiredMicrosoft Office Specialist certification in Excel is desiredAn active security clearance is highly desiredExperience with government leases and USACE (US Army Corps of Engineers)Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)We are an experienced advanced analytic development company providing Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Cyber solutions to current and emerging missions.
