Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Hybrid Property Accountant in Austin, Texas. Your role will be critical in maintaining the financial integrity and smooth operations of our real estate properties. The role involves full-cycle accounting responsibilities for multiple properties, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and facilitating clear and precise reporting. Responsibilities: • Oversee the complete accounting cycle for 8-10 properties, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. • Conduct regular journal entries, both monthly and quarterly, and balance sheet reconciliations. • Review financial statements in comparison to budget, identify and explain any variances as necessary. • Ensure invoices are correctly coded to the general ledger and differentiate between capital expenditures and operating expenses. • Familiarize yourself with Yardi Software as we are currently transitioning to this platform. • Prepare specialized investor reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring understanding and ability to explain the report contents. • Collaborate with external auditors for the annual GAAP audit, providing accurate, timely, and complete information. • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, understanding what to input, how it's calculated, and what it represents. • Review the work of other Property Accountants at the end of the month for accuracy and completeness. • Take on special projects as required, with the expectation of understanding what's needed and how to provide it. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding, understanding its principles and applications in the field of property accounting. • Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems, and the ability to effectively use them for financial management. • Experience with ADP - Financial Services, demonstrating competence in using this specific software for financial operations. • Knowledge of AMSI, showcasing the ability to utilize this property management system for accounting tasks. • Proficiency in AppFolio, indicating experience in using this property management software for financial management. • Strong understanding of Accounting Functions, and the ability to accurately perform them in property accounting. • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP), demonstrating the ability to handle payable accounts efficiently. • Competence in handling Accounts Receivable (AR), showcasing the ability to manage receivable accounts effectively. • Proficiency in Accrual Accounting, indicating a strong understanding of this accounting method and its applications in property accounting. • Experience in Auditing, demonstrating the ability to perform financial checks and balances in property accounting.
