Description We are in the search for a Property Accountant to join our team based in Dallas, Texas. Working within the Real Estate industry, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including handling customer inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and processing applications. This role provides a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Input and manage journal entries within the accounting software system • Conduct thorough analysis of financial data and prepare reports for investors on a quarterly basis • Regularly interact with multiple departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Operations, and Construction • Reconcile book to bank transactions and update cash transactions on a daily basis • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually • Assist in the annual preparation of budgets and provide insightful financial data analysis • Conduct analysis of general ledger accounts to identify inconsistencies and material misstatements • Handle the process of month end, quarter end, and year end closings • Prepare tax work papers for tax consultants and manage the allocation of costs • Engage in special projects as needed, ensuring all projects are completed within given deadlines. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Real Estate industry • Proficiency in account coding and understanding of accounting functions • Skilled in using accounting software systems • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Knowledge of accrual accounting and auditing principles • Familiarity with Yardi, Yardi Property Management, Yardi Software, and Yardi Voyager • Demonstrated expertise in property accounting and commercial property management • Ability to manage property budgets effectively • Experience in property management accounting and working within a property management company • Knowledge in preparing and handling property tax returns and understanding of property tax regulations • Experience in real estate property management and real estate accounting • Understanding of real estate finance principles • Able to process approved invoices, code invoices, and enter invoices into the system • Experience in managing customer invoices and entering vendor invoices • Ability to manage aged receivables and familiarity with accounts receivables systems.
