Property Accountant

Job Description Summary

Dedicated to one client’s portfolio of multiple properties with numerous tenants, this position’s responsibilities include assisting in analysis and preparation of monthly financial statements, accurate application of cash receipts and accounts payable, as well as timely remittance of critical payments such as utilities, taxes and mortgages. Must have a thorough knowledge of commercial leases and Yardi software. The candidate must be able to work independently to meet strict deadlines for multiple properties. Must be able to work efficiently with multiple property managers and other personnel.

Job Description

Principal Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for the preparation of monthly reporting to clients, including accrual basis financial statements, variance explanations, and other supplemental information as required. Prepares and provides management with supporting documentation for management statements.Prepare and review Bank Reconciliation reportsManage the recording of new and amendments to existing tenant leasesAssist in Commercial Tenants billingResponsible for month end close of all cash management, and accrued expenses accountingPerforms analysis of balance sheet accountsPrepare monthly workpapersMay assist in monthly review of financial statements and year-end auditPerform analysis and create ad hoc reports as requested by managementAssist in the annual operating expense reconciliations / estimatesOther duties and projects maybe assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business related2-3 years accounting experience  in  Property Management,  Residential experience preferred but not requiredAdvanced Excel KnowledgeExcellent analytical, mathematical and organizational skills required.Excellent oral and written communication skills required.Yardi experience preferred

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $76,500.00 - $90,000.00
