Property Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Property Accountant to join our team. This role is based in Northbridge, Massachusetts and is integral to our property management sector. You will be expected to handle a variety of responsibilities including full oversight of monthly books, handling of AP and AR processes, creation and tracking of budgets, and reporting to company partners. Responsibilities: • Taking full ownership of monthly financial books. • Conducting journal entries with precision. • Creating comprehensive reporting packages for company partners. • Managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. • Formulating and tracking the budget. • Making use of AppFolio, QuickBooks, and other relevant software to streamline processes. • Ensuring the accuracy of General Ledger and Journal Entries. • Handling HOA and Utilities related tasks. • Working closely with an external CPA firm. • Reporting directly to the company founder. • Providing support to the property management team. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Property Accountant. • Proficiency in the use of AppFolio property management software is required. • Strong understanding and experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory. • Knowledge of Accrual Accounting is essential. • Applicant must be skilled in using QuickBooks accounting software. • Familiarity and experience with General Ledger accounting is necessary. • Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries is crucial. • Experience in dealing with Homeowners Association (HOA) matters is beneficial. • Knowledge and understanding of Utilities management and accounting is needed.
