\n \n Job Description

Associa Chicagoland is seeking a Property Accountant for our Schaumburg office. This position will provide accounting and operational support to managers and office leadership. It may involve daily interaction with board members, so we are looking for a well-spoken, customer service-oriented individual who can multitask at a fast pace.

The Property Accountant will establish and maintain a professional, service-oriented relationship with Community Association Managers, colleagues, clients, homeowners, vendors, and service providers.

\n

\n

Key responsibilities include gathering, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.

\n

The Property Accountant will oversee specific financial objectives, such as preparing and regulating annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, and initiating corrective actions when budget issues arise. Additionally, this role entails monitoring corporate financial status by closely tracking revenue, expenses, and future budget changes, as well as evaluating financial data and preparing financial reports.

This position may also provide guidance to other departments, divisions, and branches by applying insights and recommendations to enhance their financial operations. Furthermore, the Property Accountant will assist the company in avoiding legal challenges by staying informed about current and proposed legislation, enforcing financial regulations, and recommending new, efficient procedures.

Duties:

\n\nReviewandapprovemonthlyfinancialstatementsforvariousclients.Monthlyreportsincludebalancesheets,incomestatements,monthlytrends,delinquencies,prepaidaccounts,bankreconciliation,generalledgers,etc..\nAnswerquestionsforCommunityAssociationManagersandBoardMembersregardingmonthlyfinancialstatements.\nManagetransition-inofnewclients,includingcommunicatinginternallyaboutnewclients,settingupbankaccounts,closingbankaccounts,processingnewandupdatedsignaturecards,andbudgetentry.\nOverseeandrequestAP&ARcorrections,bankreconciliation,journalentries,andaccountadjustments.\nManagerecurringcharges,suchashomeownerassessments,parking,andstorage.\nDefineproblems,collectdata,establishfacts,anddrawvalidconclusions.\nAssistwithin-officetaskssuchasprocessingchecksbysorting,coding,andfillingoutARincomeforms.\nAttendin-personorvirtualboardmeetingsasneeded.\nProvidegrouptrainingtoCommunityAssociationManagersandemployeesbothin-personandvirtually.\nProvideone-on-onetrainingtoBoardsasneededforfinancial&budgetunderstanding.\nAssisttheDirectorofAccountingwiththerestructuringofdepartmentprocesses.\nProvideleadershiptothedepartmentandbackuptotheDirectorofAccountingwhenabsent.\nProvidetrainingandassistancetoCommunityAssociationManagersandotherbranchpersonnelwithregardtofinancialstatementreview,budgetimplementation,A/R,A/P,GL,andvariousotheraccountingprocedures.\nUpdatepersonnelwithanyassociation-relatedchangesorupdatestopolicies,procedures,banking,etc..\n\n

\n Requirements

Skills/experienceneededtobesuccessful:

\n\nKnowledgeofGenerallyAcceptedAccountingPractices(GAAP)andMicrosoftOffice.\nExperiencedingeneralledgeraccounting.\nAbilitytoread,analyze,andinterpretthemostcomplexdocuments.Abilitytorespondeffectivelytothemostsensitiveinquiriesorcomplaints.\nAbilitytomakeeffectiveandpersuasivespeechesandpresentationsoncontroversialorcomplextopicstotopmanagement,publicgroups,andorboardsofdirectors.\nExperiencedinbudgetimplementation.\nUnderstandingofAPtransactionprocess.\nUnderstandingofARtransactionprocess.\nWillingnesstogrowandtakeonnewprojectsasneeded.\nPartnerwithstakeholderssuchascommunitymanagers,vendors,peers,andclients.\nMustbeabletoprioritize,managetime,andmeetdeadlineswithaccuracyandattentiontodetail.\nMustbeabletointerpretverbaland/orwritteninstructionsataproficientlevel.\nMustbeabletocommunicateeffectivelyandprofessionallyonthephone,throughemail,andinperson.\nMustbeabletooperategeneralofficeequipment(copier,fax,phonesystems,etc.).\n\n

EducationandExperience

\n\nBachelorsDegreePreferred\n3–8yearsofdirectlyrelatedorcloselyrelatedexperience\n3–5yearsofManagementand/orSupervisoryexperience\nCPApreferred\nWhatweoffer\n\n
