Job Title: Property Accounting Supervisor
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Accounting Supervisor to lead our property accounting team. The ideal candidate will manage and review financial and operational information, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. You will play a crucial role in reviewing journal entries, capital additions, and bank reconciliations, while also overseeing property cash balances and loan reserve draw requests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company with plans to expand its portfolio in 2025.

ResponsibilitiesReview monthly journal entries and supporting schedules.Review capital additions to ensure they adhere to company capitalization policy.Establish annual goals and objectives for the property accounting team, and determine assignments for properties and portfolios.Implement process and procedural improvements to streamline work and increase productivity.Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations.Monitor property cash balances to ensure adequate cash flows for operating expenses and owner distributions.Review loan reserve draw requests and ensure compliance with lender reporting requirements and deadlines.Review monthly distribution and funding calculations for entity distributions.Review property acquisition prorations and post-close true-ups.Ensure customer satisfaction by responding promptly to requests related to financial reporting, accounting matters, and property budgets.Interview, hire, and train team members, and manage their performance according to company policies.Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.5+ years of experience in multifamily residential accounting and 3+ years of supervisory accounting experience preferred.Experience in accounting for joint venture, partnership, or multi-tiered entity structures.Knowledge of Property Management and related accounting functions.2-3+ years of experience with Yardi Voyager and other Yardi products preferred.Strong Excel skills (lookups, sumifs, pivot tables, etc.) and ability to learn new accounting applications.Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Yardi.Strong customer service skills.Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, including providing technical assistance on complex issues in a straightforward manner.Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.Additional Skills & QualificationsCPA preferred but not required.Yardi report writing experience is a plus.Experience with other property management software can be considered.Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work schedule, with 1-2 days in the office once the employee is established in the role. The position operates on a first shift with flexible hours. The dress code is business casual, with professional attire required at times.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
