What you will do
This is an important customer-facing position, as you'll be responsible for meeting with our insureds and completing field estimates. Personal and commercial lines large and complex losses will be reviewed; losses are likely to exceed $200,000. Travel is required and includes flying to loss sites for initial inspections, reinspections, or to collaborate with engineers and experts as needed. Technical knowledge in appraisals, legal disputes, Xactanalysis, municipal codes and applicable tax guidelines will be required.
Key responsibilities
Handle large loss and complex homeowners and commercial property claims. Provide superior customer service while investigating first party commercial and personal lines claims. Communicate information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with insureds and other stakeholders. Work with experts in construction, accounting, cause and origin, etc. Engage in negotiations when needed with insureds, work to resolve issues with internal oversight structures, attorneys, public adjusters, agents and brokers. Fly, as needed, to loss sites for initial inspections, reinspections, or to collaborate with engineers and experts. Complete appraisals and review and respond to legal disputes as required. Work with leadership teams for complex claims and coverage issues for review and determination. Identify applicable codes with municipalities and evaluate applicable tax guidelines for a given area.Additional responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service to our internal and external customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Conform with all corporate policies and procedures.What you need:
Bachelor's degree preferred. 10+ years of adjusting personal and commercial lines field property claims with 3+ years' experience handling large losses (over $200,000). Xactimate Level 2 Certification; Level 3 preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, detail orientation, and effective time management and organizational skills. Must have problem solving and critical thinking skills with demonstrated self-motivation and a proactive mindset. Proficient computer skills. Valid driver’s license; company car provided. Multiple state licensing required.Licensing:
Required to obtain your license(s) as an adjuster in the state(s) in which you are assigned to adjust claims. Licensing must be obtained within the timeframe set forth by the Company and must be maintained as needed throughout your employment.
Salary range: $107,000 - $150,000
The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
