Then we have an interesting position in Grundfos for you. **What is the job about?** The Proposal Engineer provides world class customer service through prompt and professional pricing and technical/commercial sales support to customers, channel partners, OEMs, Business Development Managers and sales teams for products and their applications. The Proposal Engineer ensures the proper specification of products and issues technical documents as required and is responsible for providing technical assistance and training to the inside and outside sales force and customers as applicable to the Grundfos product range. In addition, they will facilitate profitability and efficiency using product knowledge, product selection software, and innovation to provide technical solutions to customer requests provide leadership, guidance, and expertise to colleagues. This position reports directly to the proposal manager and will operate on a hybrid schedule out of our Brookshire, TX site. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa. **Your main responsibilities** : + Provide customer and sales teams with product specification and technical assistance as needed. + Provides custom costing, reviews and prepares formal quotations. + Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for the proposal stage and produce estimated dimensions, weights, and electrical information. + Advise customers including the sales team on technical application, product training and handling escalation calls. + Assess advanced product applications to determine proper selection of pumps, assists with high level product troubleshooting and installation assistance, and provides product training to employees. + Work collaboratively within a team environment to prepare moderately complex quotation packages, review detailed specifications including technical deviations lists as required, with minimal assistance. + Provide guidance and support to other proposal engineers including custom pricing and spec review. + Required to meet or exceed Customer Support Center quality assurance standards on a consistent basis. **Your background** : We imagine that you have: + Qualified candidates will possess a four-year technical or engineering degree. Additionally, have 3-5 years of sales/engineering experience with extensive knowledge of pump systems. + Technical related-product and applications-specific knowledge (i.e., basic understanding of pumps, motors, VFD’s, ancillaries, packaged systems, and industry standards (HI, ANSI, ISO, etc.) for pumps. + Specify system components or direct selection of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. + Ability to maintain multiple, divergent priorities, and work independently with a high degree of accuracy to meet customer requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment. + Working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia, etc. and ability to learn new software. May be required to create P&IDs for engineering/design team to generate system drawings. + A willingness to travel up to 20% if necessary.
