Proposal Engineer-Japanese Job Summary  

If you are a Proposal Engineer, Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for a Proposal Engineer to work with Customer Care Team. This role will work as a part of a team to provide proactive supports to sales and customers. You will continually work to stay current on Flow products, applications, and industries.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Generate and communicate quotations per customer requests for AP Flow Sales Offices in Japan. Generate other related documents to support quotation as per need. Coordinate with BU factories for proper lead time to quote to the customers. Provide technical support to sales, coordinating with AP Flow Technical Support Team for higher level technical solutions as per need. Review orders for technical conformance as in valid model options, configuration ranges and documentation options.  Liaise with the AP Flow Order Entry Team in Nanjing Factory to assure clean execution of orders by identifying and resolving the related technical issues. Perform other tasks as required and as assigned from time to time.

You handle the risk that comes with moving forward when the outcome is not certain.   For This Role, You Will Need: Review data sheets and prepare sizing, model configuration and pricing for Flow /Measurement products.  Cursory Review of Bill of material information received from Sales/Proposal Engineers/Project Engineers.  Convert that into Oracle ERP readable format (RQOM).  Upload RQOM in Oracle ERP system and get the price.  Send the price to the requestors.  Ensures the quality and timely submission.  Meet or exceed KPI goals.  Able to develop and monitor processes.  Communicate to stake holders continuously.  Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: 2 years and above work experience in a customer support role or sales role is preferred. Engineering degree from reputable college institutions, major in industry automation and measuring / control instrumentation is preferable. Mechanical, Electric and Chemical Engineering graduates may also be considered. Strong written and oral Japanese/English communication skills in a technical environment are needed to write reports, business correspondence, and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of co-workers, managers, Sales, customers, etc.  Excellent computer skills (i.e. Microsoft office with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint, and also Internet Explorer). High aptitude in learning business systems (i.e. CRM, Symphony, etc.) Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists or deal with alternatives that are not necessarily governed by established procedures. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Additional Information

The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both internal and external customers. Must be able to work in a high-stress environment, under minimal supervision. Must have proven technical aptitude to learn, and clearly explain, the concepts and terminology associated with flow measurement and applying Micro Motion .
