DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking a Proposal Specialist I to work collaboratively with technical leads to prepare winning proposals and presentations and will also perform the role of project manager of proposal development efforts. This position will require close coordination with the technical staff and various technical professionals dispersed throughout Michael Baker International’s other offices.
Essential Duties:
Works collaboratively with technical leads to prepare winning proposals, qualifications submittals, interview presentations, and award submissions. Acts as project manager of proposal efforts. Leads kick off meeting to define expectations, identifies tasks and assigns responsibilities, and develops production schedule; assists technical capture manager in developing win themes; completes tasks and assigned responsibilities; drafts/edits content; schedules and facilitates reviews. Leads pursuit strategy development meetings. Effectively manages large proposal teams and strategic/priority pursuits. Writing and editing of resumes and project descriptions, new proposal content, the development and maintenance of proposal materials, research, and other miscellaneous coordination; uses internal database information to support proposal efforts. Participates in business development meetings, leads development of content for proposals, and creates marketing collateral. Utilizes project management and communication skills to manage, organize, and prioritize multiple projects and meet competing deadlines. Utilizes internal database information to support proposal development efforts. Provides guidance and support to junior level/less experienced proposal production staff. Occasional travel may be required.REQUIREMENTS
4-8 years of experience Four-year degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience providing proposal and marketing support in the Architecture/ Engineering/ Construction industry.Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity reviewing solicitations (RFP, RFQ, RFI) to develop the proposal schedule and assignments. Knowledge of standard government forms (e.g., SF330). Familiarity with regional and local proposal submission requirements and procedures. Strong project management skills. Ability to manage, organize, and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines. Exceptional writing, editing, and document organization skills. Demonstrates strategic thinking: experienced in the development of win themes and use of storyboards during the proposal process. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Detail oriented with good customer service, organization, and conceptual thinking skills. Work independently and within a team setting to support proposal related tasks and assignments. Advanced to expert skills in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.Other Preferred Skills:
Experience using Deltek Vision, Adobe Creative Suite, and various MS software programs.COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $64,480.00 - $101,545. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
