Top Skills: + Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, etc. + Expert-level writing skills, proofreading, presentation generation, etc. + Experience as a proposal writer (RFIs, RFPs, Customer Proposals, etc.) + Keen ability to learn, understand and leverage MSC’s value proposition – how to connect their value prop to disparate customers + This role will be supporting their largest, most complex, multi-MM proposals, so understanding the customer and solutioning to meet their needs is critical (will be working in-tandem with sales and marketing teams) + Any enterprise retail/eCommerce a plus, but not required + Highly articulate, customer-facing, customer-first, positive personality required BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: The position is responsible for supporting Sales Team Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) responses to secure new and retain existing business. RFI/Proposal Writer Level 2 will focus on responding to complex customer proposals. This includes editing existing templates, generating new content that aligns with overall business strategy. The position will also be asked to contribute to projects that support team or department initiatives as necessary including, but not limited to activities that support template development, content creation, and cross functional collaboration. JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Sales Proposal RFI Writer II q 5+ years of professional experience in proposal development, with a focus on creating high-caliber, accurate submissions. q Demonstrated track record of successfully writing and managing multiple proposals under deadline pressure. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: q Essential Skills: Strong writing kills, attention to detail, project management, and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word. q Proposal Development: Responding to complex customer proposals with tailored content. Editing and refining existing templates to ensure clarity and alignment with business goals. q Collaboration: Participate in strategy meetings, share drafts, and incorporate feedback from team members. Collaborating with various departments to gather necessary information and insights. q Content Creation: Independently researches and writes new content that reflects the company's strategic objectives. q Information Resource: Serves as the departmental Subject Matter Expert, providing procedural guidance and direction. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of our operations and those of cross-functional teams to assist colleagues who seek support and may be unsure where to turn. q Knowledge Maintenance: Ensure a thorough understanding of MSC’s services and processes. q Reporting: Assist in tracking win-loss metrics as needed. q Mentorship: Provides training and mentorship to Sales Proposal RFI Writer 1. q Process Improvement: Explore opportunities for enhancing design and content quality through new tools and technologies. q Special Projects: Engage in additional projects and responsibilities as required. q Professional Development: Pursue opportunities for training or professional growth within the company. q Cultural Promotion: Foster culture within the team and the broader company. + Strategic Content Development: Crafting content that aligns with strategic goals. + Curated Research: Conducting in-depth research to create curated content. + High-Quality Content Delivery: Ensuring the delivery of top-notch content. + Information Integration: Combining multiple sources into a cohesive response. + Design: Adapting standard templates to create custom responses (desktop publishing/ PowerPoint or other). + Versatile Writing: Experience in both long-form and short-form writing. + Brand Management: Overseeing and maintaining brand consistency. + Innovative Marketing: Developing and implementing creative marketing strategies, including AI, content management platforms, and design platforms. SKILLS: q Superior writing and editing skills with specific attention to detail. q High level of independent decision making. q Strong communication skills – verbal and written. q Ability to manage a fast paced, deadline driven environment. q Creative problem-solving skills. q Excellent time management, project management and organizational skills q Strong Microsoft Office Skills required; Experience with content management software preferred. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: q A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time may be required. q This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).
