Proposals Engineer
Innovate high-purity, high-performance chemicals and materials

Primary Role:

Foster sales opportunities by applying engineering expertise, transforming customer needs into technical proposals, and coordinating proposal preparation. Provide the link between customers and the company to ensure alignment of needs and capabilities. Building relationships with key customers in both defence and commercial aerospace and become their point of contact for queries and future collaboration. Representing the company at industry events. Grow a good knowledge base of customers needs and competitor capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Understand Customer Requirements:

   - Analyse customer documentation or outputs of meetings to establish needs.

   - Add further detail to these requirements by gaining a good rapport with customers and understand of customers business and projects.

·       Build a knowledge base of the aerospace and defence industry to help anticipate customer future requirements.

 

Define System Requirements:

   - Map functional requirements to system characteristics and architectures to ensure a compliant proposal is achievable.

   - Choose suitable product configurations, research tasks and assess customisation needs accordingly.

 

Coordinate with Specialists:

   - Collaborate with Design and Product Engineering for technical analysis.

   - Gather input from various internal functions for comprehensive proposal preparation.

 

Prepare and Present Proposals:

   - Create technical and commercial proposals with necessary technical and commercial annexes.

   - Perform technical presentations and follow up on proposals with customers.

   - Manage updates, communication of requirements, and contract negotiations.

 

Support Financial and Business Functions:

   - Provide expected revenues and margins to the Finance team.

 

   - Submit technical and economical proposal packages for Business Development evaluation.

Qualification and Skills:

- Degree in relevant engineering or scientific fields.

- 5-10 years of experience in design, development, or technical sales.

- Proficiency in English

- Strong organizational, documentation, and customer trust-building skills.

- Resilience, time management, and professional ethics.

- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
