The WWT Proposal Team is a function of the Business Development and Marketing Department within World Wide Technology (WWT).
A WWT Proposal Manager is responsible for the on-time delivery of compliant and compelling RFx responses/proposals to our current or prospective customers. A Proposal Manager is in control of anywhere from one to five active RFx responses at a time, with varying levels of complexity. This person is ultimately the project manager for the response effort, organizing and coordinating all team members to provide all information required to produce a work product that will ultimately lead to the sales team and WWT winning the business. A Proposal Manager will collaborate with professionals from virtually all departments, teams and groups throughout the company, as well as any external team members such as OEM partners and/or services subcontractors involved in a project.
At the role level of a Proposal Manager, this person understands the WWT Go-To-Market Strategy and other sales initiatives, and is firmly aware of WWT’s capabilities and areas of deficiencies. A Proposal Manager works with the sales team to maintain direction towards the focused outcome, steering the response process to assemble the best possible product for delivery to the customer.
Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions/Competencies
Manages the bid and proposal development (for multiple projects) process once a decision to respond to an RFx is made. This requires coordination of internal and external resources as required. Responsible for leading the team effort. Project management skills necessary. Works with internal teams to produce and provide required content for bids. Responsible for writing persuasive executive summaries and other narratives which address the specific requirements of each RFx. Working through various submission methods (hard copy, portal, email, etc.) Editing and formatting Working in content repository to identify answers/content Follow up requests like BAFOs or Clarifications Ultimate responsibility for the timely production of a compliant and persuasive proposal.
